Four separate prostate glands are supplied with the torso, one benign gland and three stages of prostatic carcinoma in varying degrees of development. Each gland can be inserted into the torso to allow realistic practice in diagnosis by rectal palpation.
This model also includes lubricant, cleaner, a teaching guide, and a case.
The four glands included represent:
Stage A: The gland is benign, slightly enlarged, but otherwise perfectly normal.
Stage B: A discreet, hard nodule is palpable in the upper right quadrant.
Stage C: The small nodule has increased and become an external hard mass.
Stage D: The entire gland is hard and irregular - totally replaced with carcinoma.
