Twice life-size, this model separates into four pieces for easy viewing. More than 120 anatomical features are hand labeled on the model and identified in the key.
Sensory regions are labeled on the right half of the model and include the separate reception and interpretative areas of the five senses, as well as the somatosensory cortex.
Motor centers, labeled on the left half, include areas of the motor cortex controlling voluntary muscles in nineteen body regions, the premotor area, and the motor speech area of Broca.
Internally the limbic system is painted and labled as the center of emotions and as playing a key role in learning and memory. Its functon as a relay station is also indicated.
Giant Functional Brain rests on a hoop support mounted on an oval hardwood base.
